PAY RANGE:

70k -- 80k salary

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Analyze, monitor, and optimize our organization's cost structure. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate costing data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive strategic decision-making to enhance profitability and operational efficiency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation  
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.  
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual cost reports, providing insights and recommendations to management.  
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, procurement and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements  
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities to support business objectives.  
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.  

     

     

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Cost Analysis: Analyze and interpret cost variances, identifying areas of improvement and recommending cost-saving measures.  
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts by providing insights into cost trends and projections.  
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, reconcile physical inventories with the general ledger, and assess inventory valuation methods.  
  • Cost Allocation: Allocate indirect costs to appropriate cost centers or products using predetermined methodologies.  
  • Product Costing: Calculate the cost of goods sold (COGS) and product profitability, considering direct materials, labor, and overhead expenses.  
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze cost reports, including standard cost updates, cost of sales analysis, and inventory valuation reports.  
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction through efficiency gains or strategic sourcing.  
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements related to cost accounting.  
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as operations, procurement, and finance to gather relevant data and support decision-making.  
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct special projects or ad hoc analysis as requested by management to address specific cost-related inquiries or initiatives.  
  • Year end audit support and Government reporting as required.
