This job is a member of the Supply Chain Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
Responsible for working closely with internal American Airlines customers to understand their business needs, and represents the company in negotiations and business transactions with suppliers. This job involves developing and promoting strategic partnerships with suppliers who support American’s material and service requirements for maintenance
What you'll do
Level 2
Represents the company in business transactions with internal and external organizations
Identifies strategies to minimize supplier cost for parts and services
Assists with managing supply and services agreements
Monitors and tracks supplier performance
Helps manage and meet departmental goals
Track supplier performance for the commodity
Level 3
Represents the company in business transactions with internal and external organizations
Identifies and implements opportunities and strategies to minimize supplier cost for parts and services
Identifies, negotiates, establishes and manages supply and service agreements
Monitors, tracks and influences supplier performance
Helps manage and meet departmental goals
Develops and promotes strategic partnerships with suppliers
Works closely with internal American Airlines customers and stakeholders to understand business needs, objectives, product/service requirements and the broader operational processes
Measures and tracks supplier performance for the commodity; resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience/training
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Supply Chain Management
1 year experience in Supply Chain related fields
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
A potential team leader with strong communication skills
Understanding of supply chain concepts, with work or internship experience applying those concepts
Negotiating and influencing skills
Self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks with exhibited follow through and initiative
Business understanding, particularly in project management, early supplier involvement, total cost management and financial analysis
Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, forecasting and quality improvement
High ethical standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
