JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Wilkes-Barre is currently seeking a Part-Time Surveying Lab Assistant. The Surveying Lab Assistant will help the course instructor(s) in the delivery of SUR 111, SUR 241, and SUR 212 (total of 4 hours per week for the Fall semester) and SUR 162 and SUR 313 (total of 4 hours per week for the Spring semester), guiding the students through the use and care of surveying equipment to complete lab oratory exercises. The Lab Assistant is required to monitor the surveying equipment room (1 hour per week). This position will report to the Surveying Program Coordinator or his designee.
Requirements and qualifications:
Ensure that the instruments are in their appropriate lockers and that equipment is returned to the appropriate lockers.
Making sure batteries for the surveying equipment are charged and ready for student use and ensuring that the lab equipment is in good working order.
Ensure the room and lockers are cleaned and organized.
The Assistant will report all defective instruments and those that require maintenance to the supervisor.
Requirements and qualifications:
Must be an undergraduate surveying student.
