SJA, Inc. Material Quality Engineer in Dadeville, Alabama
- Conduct chemical and physical tests on raw materials to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications;
- Utilize techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and rheology to analyze material properties;
- Develop and implement process controls to reduce variability and defects in materials ;
- Design and execute quality control plans, including statistical process control ( SPC ) and Six Sigma methodologies, to monitor and improve material quality ;
- Perform root cause analysis for material defects and implement corrective actions ;
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve material quality issues and ensure compliance with specifications ;
- Study material failures and defects in automotive parts, using chemical engineering principles to determine causes ;
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive measures to avoid future material failures ;
- Ensure all materials used in manufacturing comply with industry regulations and environmental standards ;
- Stay updated on changes in regulations affecting material use and implement necessary changes in materials ;
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on material handling, quality standards, and testing procedures ;
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing material quality and reducing waste ;
- Maintain detailed records of material tests and quality inspections and technical reports.
