As a Software Development Engineer on our Last Mile Technology team, you'll be at the forefront of solving these intricate puzzles. You'll work on systems that make intelligent decisions in real-time, optimize complex logistics networks, and coordinate thousands of delivery events across diverse geographical areas. Our systems must excel in environments ranging from dense urban centers to suburban neighborhoods, each presenting unique challenges that require innovative solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer vision, sensor fusion and perception systems, including work with sensors (cameras, LIDAR, radar)

  • Experience with behavior planning or decision-making systems for AI agents such as motion planning, path finding algorithms, or navigation systems

  • Background in real-time systems and embedded software development

  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)

  • Experience with frameworks such as ROS/ROS2

  • Experience with simulation environments (Gazebo, IsaacSIM)

  • Understanding of localization and mapping (SLAM) techniques

  • Experience with safety-critical software development practices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
