We’re looking for a data operations program manager who would be responsible for managing human annotation acquisition efforts for Machine Translation. The program manager will be managing and coordinating projects with vendors, annotation platform teams, legal, finance, and partner data scientists & engineers to create data assets which are used to power and evaluate ground breaking machine learned experiences.

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years in a role leading data acquisition, operations and evaluation with a strong focus on execution

• Your project management skills are outstanding; you are able to work with engineering counterparts to prioritize competing projects and maintain an accurate schedule for project completions.

• You have strong presentation skills; Experience leading cross functional security and privacy initiatives and collaborating with Legal, Privacy Engineering, Security and other teams across the organization to ensure compliance with privacy policies and security mandates

• You have experience working with annotation vendors; you can maintain solid relationships, ensure accurate invoicing, and act as the intermediary between engineering and vendors.

• You have experience managing large annotation budgets; you can drive budget planning and help prioritize requests, project costs, and track current spend.

• Ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, make recommendations and drive actions

• Self-motivated, independent, and proactive; demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities; can quickly (real-time) triage, prioritize, drive consensus and lead cross- functional teams under pressure

• You are familiar with general office software and are able to maintain sophisticated spreadsheets of requests.

Description

Specific Responsibilities Include: - Prioritizing and scheduling data annotation and acquisition projects to align with the organization goals and timelines - Driving the budget planning for data annotation and acquisition efforts and communicating with Finance - Coordinating with vendors to establish long term partnerships and ensure proper and accurate invoicing - Reviewing and advising the development of annotation projects strategies, interfaces and guidelines - Serving as an interface for feedback and questions from annotators back to MT engineers. - Driving evaluation process and deliver evaluation results with quality assurance.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or equivalent experience in EE/CS/CE

Additional Requirements

• 5+ year experience in project management and team coordination

• Experience in managing human annotation efforts preferred

• Experience in data analytics and software engineering preferred

• Experience with Data and Machine Learning products is a plus

• Prior PM or engineering experience in speech recognition, natural language understanding, data pipelines is a plus

Pay & Benefits

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
