Peachtree Orthopedics Front Desk Coordinator, Patient Check Out in Cumming, Georgia

Summary

The Patient Account Coordinator is responsible for an accurate and timely charge for PO’s services for all patients and insurance billings.

Location: Cumming office

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm (may work up to 2 Saturdays per month)

Job Type: full time

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive Point of Service payment from patients checking out.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely charge capture for clinic-based services.

  • Ensures that Work Status Forms are faxed to insurer, employer, and other interested parties within 48 hours of patient's appointment.

  • Notify patients with balance for upcoming appointments and contacts patients regarding outstanding balances.

  • Establishes and maintains payment plans to help patients manage payment of bills.

  • Timely and appropriate resolution of all assigned accounts for third-party payors and/or patients with the purpose of managing account receivables balances.

  • Collect on delinquent accounts and past due self-pay balances.

  • Re-bills insurance companies or other third parties to secure payment for patients.

  • Schedules the appropriate follow-up for Doctor, MRI, and Physical Therapy.

  • Responds to patient billing and statement inquiries via email/telephone/patient portal

  • Other duties may be assigned.

    Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Business or related area or equivalent education, training, and/or experience required.

  • Healthcare or customer service experience preferred.

  • Minimum one year in a medical office setting or high-volume customer service environment.

    Skills & Abilities

  • Friendly and professional communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
