Sony Pictures Entertainment Manager, FP&A (Project Hire) in Culver City, California

The Manager, Finance FP&A will support the US Television Production team, reporting to the Director, FP&A on a temporary project through March 31, 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Director FP&A Finance

  • Responsible for managing the financial planning process, including producing reports and consolidating– for the entire US TV Production Division. This includes mid-range plan, quarterly forecast, and budget processes

  • Specific P&L responsibility, including leading the forecast for, and producing the financial close Ultimates for selected Business Lines

  • Works closely with the Senior Management Finance, supporting Business Affairs team in the financial scenario modeling for New Business, and Network deals

  • Build and maintain series Ultimates for purposes of financial reporting, and planning in accordance with IFRS

  • Maintain appropriate controls within the planning and ultimate process as required by Sarbanes Oxley

  • Work closely with distribution divisions to understand distribution Ultimates along with annual revenue and cost

  • Work closely with Billings & Production teams to manage cash forecast process

  • Prepare financial presentations for operations & senior management

  • Develop and implement processes to leverage existing tools and streamline workflows.

  • Complete special projects for operations and finance as necessary.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree with accounting/finance focus required

  • 5+ years public and/or private accounting experience required.

  • 3+ years hands on experience with ultimate accounting in accordance with IFRS or ASC 926 preferred

  • CPA and/or MBA preferred

  • Entertainment experience preferred

  • SAP or Essbase knowledge preferred

  • Strong MS Excel skills required

  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve

  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects

  • Strong accounting / GAAP knowledge

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and PC skills

  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of management
