Copeland Industrial Painter - 3rd shift in Cudahy, Wisconsin

This position prepares surfaces and applies prime and finish coat paints and enamels to company products having strict requirements as to finish and corrosion resistance. Follow instructions on routings, job specifications and supervisor’s orders to determine specific coating requirements. Apply primer and finish coats to ensure uniform coverage in the surface thickness required. Apply coatings or rust preventive materials by means of dipping or spraying.

Mix finishes to specific color, consistency and formulation for spraying or brushing application. Prep and adjust all spraying equipment before use to assure finish requirements, and clean and store properly after use. May apply phosphate wash or other solvents, fill and sand or wire brush surfaces as necessary to assure paint adhesion. Mask all areas not to be painted, such as gauges, sight-glasses, switches, nameplates and the like.

Use various transport, moving and positioning equipment such as overhead and jib cranes, forklift trucks, transfer carts, hydraulic jacks, and the like. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and safe condition, storing all paint properly in metal storage cabinets. Work under minimum supervision; work is subject to critical inspection and test.

Requires skills and knowledge in painting epoxies, enamels, urethanes and zincs using conventional and electrostatic paint systems usually acquired in three or more years experience. Required to follow all safety and environmental rules and procedures in the performance of job duties.

Shift premium of $2.50/hr. for 3rd shift* _*_

Full benefits package, union eligibility, pay increase and 2 weeks’ vacation (prorated for the first year) after 90 day probationary period.
