Summary: The Harbor Assistant at Crescent City Harbor plays a multifaceted role, providing support across various areas including patrol, office administration, and Rv hosting. Under the guidance of your supervisor, the Office Manager, you actively contribute to the smooth operation of our harbor facilities. Responsibilities encompass a diverse range of tasks, from assisting with office duties to providing customer service and support to visitors and Rv campers. The ability to adapt to different roles and environments, coupled with your dedication to customer satisfaction, ensures a positive experience for all harbor users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides information and assistance to the public, addressing inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Participates in a variety of community relations and public education and awareness activities to promote safety and security awareness. Enforces regulatory licensing and fish and game regulations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Secures facilities and perform a variety of special duty assignments, including serving as a representative for special events and public gatherings. Patrols Harbor, check all doors and boats to ensure they are secure, monitor water levels, and perform routine safety checks. Checks in after-hours boats, keep watch of ramps and harbors, and monitor safe docking procedures. Performs traffic control duties, including setting barricades and keeping count of all RVs entering and exiting the RV parks. Assists in patrolling the harbor area to ensure safety and security for visitors and vessels. Provide assistance to boaters and fishermen, answering questions and offering guidance as needed. Assists with monitoring and enforcing harbor rules and regulations. Answers multi-line phone system, efficiently fielding and transferring calls to appropriate departments or personnel. Manages Accounts Receivable, including posting payments, assisting with customer invoice questions, and proactively contacting customers for payment. Assists all harbor employees by addressing questions or concerns promptly, providing support and assistance as needed. Maintains a neat and orderly reception area, presenting a professional and inviting space for visitors and customers. Provides outstanding customer service, exceeding expectations through positive interactions, resolving issues or concerns effectively.
