Test Engineer - 14352    DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: POSITION SUMMARY The Engineered Solutions Test Engineer is responsible for testing, validating, and troubleshooting custom-engineered marking and coding solutions to ensure they meet customer requirements and industry standards. This role involves hands-on testing, collaboration with engineering teams, and support for field service and customer acceptance testing. The Engineer will also contribute to process improvements, documentation, and training to enhance product performance and reliability.   JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide maintenance and repair, and software and hardware support for test fixtures. * Assist design engineers with test and debugging of new and existing products. * Reproduce and analyze field problems to assist design engineers in correcting the problem. * Manufacturing test plan development * Design, build and program automated test fixtures * Maintain Automated test fixtures * Assist design engineers with debugging of new products * Production support * Engineering support/Other duties   1.Testing and Validation of Engineered Solutions (40%) * Develop and execute test plans to validate engineered solutions against customer requirements. * Perform hands-on testing of hardware, software, and integrated systems to ensure functionality and reliability. * Document and communicate test results, including pass/fail criteria, and recommend improvements. * Complete factory acceptance testing (FAT) per customer request.   2. Collaboration with Engineering Teams (20%) * Partner with Engineering and Product Development teams to ensure solutions are designed for testability. * Provide feedback on designs and prototypes to improve manufacturability and performance.   3. Customer and Field Support (15%) * Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with deployed systems in collaboration with field service teams. * Support site acceptance testing (SAT) and onsite validation when required.   4. Process Improvement and Documentation (10%) * Develop and refine testing procedures, workflows, and quality assurance protocols. * Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and any deviations.   5. Training and Knowledge Sharing (10%) * Train field service technicians, technical support and other team members on testing procedures, software and hardware functionality. * Provide insights and knowledge transfer feedback to improve team competencies in engineered solutions.   6. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration (5%) * Ensure that all test equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning optimally. * Coordinate with suppliers or internal teams for equipment servicing when necessary.   QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field * 6+ years of previous test engineering experience * Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required. * High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications. * Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills. * Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning). * Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts. * Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients. * Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. * Ability to work with and influence peers and management. * Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.   PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT * Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and ee. * Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.   * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.   In Product Identification, our Matthews Marking Systems and Evolution Inkjet brands are leading global providers of marking and coding solutions, including a full line of printing technologies, consumables and software, to meet branding, traceability and regulatory compliance needs for industrial and consumer products.
