Entry Level Geologist - 2025-8149

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As an Entry-Level Geologist, you will work on field teams and participate in geological field work for a variety of clients in the energy, transportation, and commercial markets with our Mid-Atlantic Geotechnical Engineering Group. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects, with significant career growth for the right individual. This position is available in Cranberry Township, PA, New Cumberland, PA, and Bridgeport, WV offices. This position will require approximately 50% travel overnight.

Responsibilities:  * Support geotechnical field work and analysis including soil and rock bore logging, test pit sampling, and infiltration testing.  * Prepare field reports, internal and external correspondence, technical reports, and geologic analysis.  * Review and interpret data and analytical laboratory results.  * Perform engineering analysis under the guidance of a professional engineer.  * Collaborate with design teams to incorporate geotechnical aspects into site plans.  * Ensure subcontractors and vendors are compliant with standards for drilling, laboratory analytical services, maintenance, and excavation activities.  * Monitor and troubleshoot Geotechnical issues during construction earthwork and foundation construction.  * Communicate with Kleinfelder staff, subcontractors, and clients.  * Ensure quality execution of tasks assigned.  * Participate in Kleinfelder's safety culture.

Minimum Requirements:  * Bachelor's degree in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, geology, or related field.  * 0-3 years of experience.  * A thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment.  * A can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset.  * Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, subcontractors, and regulators.  * Possess excellent technical written and verbal communication skills.  * Knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in order to engage on multiple projects.  * Ability to work year-round in varying climate and field conditions.  * Willingness to travel overnight.  * A valid driver's license.

Preferred Experience/Certifications:  * Engineer in Training (Eit) or Geologist in Training (GIT) Certificate.  * Experience with gINT, LPILE, SlopeW, and/or CAD software.
