Actalent Substation Engineer in Covington, Louisiana
This will start as 100% remote until the physical Nola office is ready (estimated 12-36+ months remote). Relocation support will be provided for those opening to relocating to the area in the future.
Job Description:
Responsible for providing project oversight and communication with clients on that specific project.
Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.
Grow and manage relationships with local clients.
Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.
Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
Ensure quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner.
Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients across multiple offices.
Manage all schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering specialization.
Understanding of forecasting and project budgeting as well as experience working within teams is required.
Qualified candidates will be expected to have 3-5+ years of experience working in the Power & Utilities industry.
7+ years of substation engineering experience
5+ years of P&C or Physical experience
Experience working with MCC, Switchgear, etc.
