Job Description

We are now recruiting a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join our growing team at our site in Carrigtwohill, Cork. An exciting time to join this Engineering team as the site is undergoing expansion to add new technology and sterile cleanroom facilities. This person will support and provide technical assistance to strategic capital investment projects onsite, as well as providing technical expertise and guidance on Reliability Engineering, Asset Management & Plant Investment. They will drive a culture of continuous improvements and reliability excellence through our MEP programme, and support maintenance management to deliver on its objectives.

Key Activities:

  • Technical expert / SME on engineering systems on site.

  • Lead Engineering support to strategic Capital investment projects

  • Responsible for Vendor and Contract management within the department ensuring works are coordinated and carried out in line with standards set by the company and statutory requirements. Also, the works are completed on time and within budget.

  • Lead and participate in EHS, Quality and MEP audits for the Engineering Department. Own the preparation for these audits. Implement actions identified from audits and ensure changes are sustained.

  • Develop and implement in consultation with stakeholders’ proposals / business cases for technical improvement projects using DMAIC model or similar methodology.

  • Responsible for improving maintenance systems and identification of technical / financial improvement opportunities.

  • Partner with operations and Lean Six Sigma experts to deliver an integrated improvements for the engineering department and the site.

  • Ensure reliability, compliance & improvement projects are included in capital project plan. Responsible for the delivery of improvement projects within budget.

  • Drive compliance across the department and have an active role in implementing Quality and Safety compliance through the onsite systems in place.

  • Assist in ensuring the reliability program meets the requirements of the Global MEP Program

  • Lead the energy management program to drive energy & sustainability improvements, reducing our carbon footprint and baseline energy costs

  • Develop & manage an asset lifecycle program, covering key data sets, monitoring, business continuity, and capital reinvestment.

  • Actively work with the Maintenance & Projects Team to ensure the MEP Program and site is QA & EHSE Compliant and Audit ready.

  • Complete training OTIF as assigned through the site Training System

  • To carry out other duties/tasks/projects/instructions as instructed by the department manager

Qualifications

  • Relevant third level Engineering qualification or equivalent

  • 5 years’ experience in medium size manufacturing environment

  • Clean and Black Utility knowledge an advantage

  • Experience working within a GMP, clean room environment

  • LSS Certified (Desirable)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
