Actalent Field Research Assistant in Corcoran, California
Hiring a Field Research Assistant for a great agriculture company in Corcoran, CA!! Must have prior relative agriculture experience and a science related degree to be able to make an impact in our company! Great culture and environment.
Schedule: M-F morning shift
Job Description:
50% on the field, 50% in the lab
The Assistant must be able to understand and follow both written and oral instructions.
May support field activities such as limited operation of field equipment (such as a tractor or cotton picker, and stationary field equipment, such as a module builder.), organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle.
Additional tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.
Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, ginning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.
General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise.
Responsible for producing research experimental results, or information/data management results, or assembling and configuring of small scale production equipment and control systems utilizing a variety of techniques, effectively documenting findings and communicating results.
Ability to work with smart pads/iPad. Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
Job Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelors degree in agriculture or scientific related field.
Field greenhouse and warehouse experience such as pest management planting harvesting filling and sorting seed packets crossing will be preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is desired.
Demonstrated excellent communication/personal interaction skills to foster teamwork enhance a positive work environment and effectively develop strong internal and external working relationships with a diverse group of people will be valued.
