Synthetic Biology Lab Tech 2
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Synthetic Biology Lab Tech 2 to join our team. In this role, you will use a variety of lab equipment to process standard and non-standard products utilizing advanced techniques such as thermal cyclers and liquid handling machines. You will perform PCR protocols, post-PCR cleanup steps, and demonstrate aseptic and sterile techniques to ensure contamination-free products.
Responsibilities
Use a variety of lab equipment to process standard and non-standard products using thermal cyclers and liquid handling machines
Perform a variety of PCR protocols and post-PCR cleanup steps
Demonstrate aseptic and sterile techniques to minimize the risk of contamination of products
Efficiently multitask while running multiple processes
Ensure accurate product records
Use customer software in a Windows-based environment
Quantify and sample products for quality control tests
Troubleshoot product, process, or equipment problems
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Biology or other related scientific field
OR Associate's Degree in Science plus 2 years of PCR experience
Work Environment
You will work in a synthetic biology lab environment on the 3rd shift, covering weekends from Friday to Sunday, 7 PM to 7:30 AM. The lab is equipped with advanced technologies and equipment necessary for synthetic biology processes. Dress code adheres to standard lab attire to maintain sterile conditions
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.17 - $29.17/hr.
