The Department of Strategic Communication at the University of Miami’s School of Communication is seeking a full-time lecturer to teach courses in the advertising strategy management track in our department. This position will commence in the Fall 2024 semester. The position entails teaching eight courses per academic year, as well as academic advising of undergraduate students. A master’s degree is required. A minimum of five to seven years of professional experience in advertising account planning, account management, agency management, or content management is required. Salary is competitive with peer institutions.

Successful candidates must have the ability to teach core courses in the advertising management track, such as writing for advertising management, project management, and the business of account management. In addition, the candidate must be able to teach graduate level courses in the new MA program in advertising, such as consumer insights and engagement strategies. The ideal candidate should have expertise in at least three of the following areas: account planning, advertising/agency management, project management, entrepreneurship, research methods, SEO, and social media/big data analytics. The candidate must be passionate about working with students and must be willing and able to help students with academic advising and career guidance.
