Weyerhaeuser Grapple Yarder Operator in Coos Bay, Oregon
Weyerhaeuser’s Coos Bay Timberlands operation, based out of Coos Bay, OR has an opening for a Grapple Yarder Operator. We are seeking individuals who desire to work in a market-focused logging environment. This is a full-time, hourly position. Hourly employees at this operation are represented by the IAM-AW Union. Benefits (in accordance with the Labor Agreement) include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k plans, vacation, and holidays. Rate of pay is $33.805 per hour.
Key Functions:
- Oversee operations and make daily adjustments to maximize productivity as needed
- Safely and competently operate grapple swing yarder to pull logs from cutting area to landing and position logs for processing/loading, on and off road on uneven terrain
Perform and assist on equipment inspections and fully support and participate in preventative maintenance procedures and routine maintenance repairs as they develop
High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience and knowledge in operating a grapple swing yarder and understanding of cable logging systems
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to work safely in both an individual and team environment
- Fulfill all Grapple Yarder Operator duties
- Must have excellent listening and communication skills; ability to demonstrate open, honest, and regular exchange of information, and treat all employees with respect and dignity
