We're looking for an Electrical Engineering Department Manager in Conshohocken, PA who is passionate about growing, mentoring, and leading a collaborative team in the design of Advanced Facilities / Life Science projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to lead a global team of engineers and designers delivering the world’s most state of the art manufacturing facilities.

You’ll be accountable for all aspects of your department’s leadership including hiring, training, mentoring, quality control and execution of design for the top technical manufacturing facilities in the world. You will be involved in supporting proposals and delivering those projects on schedule while maintaining technical quality and budget as you exceed our client’s expectations. Your highly interactive electrical team will successfully deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products for building electrical distribution and control systems.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • At least 15 years of practical application of Electrical engineering and design, including design of building electrical systems and application of national (NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, UL), international (CSA, BS, IEC, GB) and applicable local building specialty codes

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Experience with medium and low voltage power system design, MV & LV unit substation/switchgear design, UPS/Generator system design, lighting system design, grounding system design and additional power and control system design required for technically complex facilities and site infrastructure projects.

  • Experience managing a team of design and engineering professionals, including hiring new talent at all career levels, mentoring, training, maintaining quality, monitoring work performance and driving professional development .

  • Proficient in short circuit, protective device coordination and arc flash studies utilizing SKM Powertools or other related software programs.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and Revit 3D modeling software.

Ideally, you’ll also have: 

  • Extensive Electrical Engineering experience in Life Science / BioPharm Facility Design

  • Electrical Engineering knowledge of other Jacob’s industries including but not limited to Semiconductor, Data Center, and Electric Vehicle Markets

  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas

  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Strong people networking skills and working in a multicultural and global environment.
