Park Buildings and Grounds Manager -- Full-Time (Non-Exempt)

*Rate: *Pay Grade: D -- $19.6892 hour/$40,954 annual to $30.9400 hour/$64,355 annual -- minimum starting salary based on prior experience and education

Location: Jordan Creek Park, Concord Township, OH 44077

*Position Description: *

Under direction of the Assistant Chief of Outdoor Education, the Park Buildings and Grounds Manager performs building and grounds maintenance to assure the public's safety and maintain the overall condition of the parks, buildings, grounds, and natural areas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manages maintenance at Jordan Creek Park and assists at other parks.
  • Assists with special events, facility rental and program set-up and take-down.
  • Performs electrical, plumbing, and in-house construction and repair projects.
  • Manages equipment, consumable, power, and hand tool inventories.
  • Assists in purchasing of supplies and equipment, monitors and controls expenses.
  • Supports ground maintenance at parks within the Outdoor Education Department.
  • Assists in planning and managing Capital Improvement Projects.
  • Supervises and manages seasonal staff and volunteers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

*Minimum Qualifications: *

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 1 year maintenance experience or equivalent training/education is required.

*Position Requirements: *

  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance, landscaping, building maintenance and mechanical techniques and skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance specialty areas: carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, and electrical.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to operate all types of equipment, including power tools, heavy equipment and knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
  • Ability to supervise others on tasks and setting priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team setting to accomplish park-related goals.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high paced environment.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interact with others with tact and courtesy and maintain integrity and appropriate behavior in dealing with conflicts and challenges with the public, co-workers, and managers.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Will be occasionally required to work flexible hours, weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Must possess a valid drivers' license and insurable on the Agency's liability policy. Background check required.
