Summary
Perdue Farms is hiring a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler/Parts Room Supervisor to support our RTE facility in Concord, NC. The role of the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler/Parts Room Supervisorr is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts and material, and equipment access. Reporting to the Complex Maintenance Manager and maintaining liaison between production and maintenance, this position is responsible for planning, scheduling and coordination of all planned maintenance work performed on the plant site. Through supervision of the Maintenance Planning Clerks, this position is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance related matters.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Serves at the principle contact and liaison person between maintenance, production, and other supported departments. In this capacity, the position ensures that all internal customers of maintenance receive timely, efficient, and quality service. The position also takes a continuing interest in customer (internal) needs. With keen awareness of the customer's situation (schedule, problems, etc.), the Planner is able to help production balance their need for daily output with their need equipment reliability through proactive maintenance.
Responsible for long-term as well as short-term planning. Long-term planning involves the regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources. These two basic variables must be kept in balance if a proactive maintenance environment is to be established and sustained.
Planning and scheduling for shutdowns (major and minor): Bar Charts, Networks, and Development of model shutdown plans by standard segments.
Development of Planner reference systems including a file of Planned Job Packages for recurring jobs, plus labor and material libraries for each equipment center.
Keeps the Maintenance Superintendent properly informed of abnormal or critical situations and seeks advice on matters outside the Planner's knowledge or authority.
Makes recommendations for system improvement.
Promotes the conversation of energy.
Through the Maintenance Planning Clerk, responsible for: custodianship of the CMMS, maintenance timekeeping, payroll input, and cost distribution, and maintenance of vacation, absenteeism, and tardiness records.
Maintain essential records and files from which he prepares and files from which he prepares and distributes accurate and meaningful management reports.
Interpretation and provision of historical equipment cost information.
Participation in budgetary preparation, tracking, and analysis.
Assists the Maintenance Superintendents in periodic analysis of cost trends with recommendations for continual improvement.
Performs other maintenance related tasks and special assignments as requested by the Maintenance Superintendent/Production Manager, and Maintenance Manager.
Minimum Education
- Further technical education beyond high school or vocational training (BS Degree preferred)
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5 years related experience
Thorough working knowledge of Maintenance Software System(s); MS Programs; specifically, spreadsheet savvy; and working knowledge of Purchasing System and protocol
Demonstrated leadership and influential behaviors
Proven oral and written communication skills
