About the Role:

As a CBRE Utilities Operator, you will monitor and maintain Utility Operations for a 24/7 pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. In order to accomplish this, the individual must be able to effectively respond and communicate to key customers/system owners and understand all aspects of equipment operation and maintenance.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate and troubleshoot problems as they occur on chillers, cooling towers, RO systems, steam boilers, hot water boilers, air compressors, fire water distribution, and other equipment in the Central Utility Plant as required.

  • Manage all alarms received from the Utility Monitoring System (UMS). Provide the required notification and document alarms per procedures.

  • Maintain a safe work environment.

  • Ensure 24/7 monitoring and response of utility systems and properly communicate issues as they arise.

  • Maintain personal training plan at 100% to ensure compliance with all aspects of HS&E, Quality and Regulatory Agencies

  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge in the following:

•Chillers

•Cooling Towers

•RO System

•Deaerator

•Steam Boilers

•Hot Water Boilers

•Air Compressors

•Boiler Water Chemistry

•Fire Water Loop Distribution

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training.

Utilities, maintenance and/or operations background with basic computer skills and CMMS experience would be beneficial. Employee must be able to work in confined spaces, work on ladders/scaffolds, use PPE and lift 50 lbs.

Experience in a cGMP environment preferred.

Additional Information

•Travel not required.

•Lifting required (50 lbs).

•Required to be on call.

•12 hour shifts – 223 Rotation

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

  • Follow all activity policies and procedures, including all HSE-related requirements at all times.

  • Participate in all HSE-related programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing and assessment, etc.

  • Report any conditions which you feel could result in an accident or injury and / or stop work if required.
