Description We are seeking a Purchasing Specialist in Commerce, California, who will play a crucial role in managing our procurement process for industrial packaging materials and services. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain management, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain international vendor relationships.


• Source, select, and negotiate with vendors for the purchase of packaging materials, including corrugated boxes, pallets, stretch films, tapes, and other industrial packaging supplies.

• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and terms.

• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement to meet production and customer demand.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, logistics, and finance teams, to optimize purchasing strategies and ensure alignment with company goals.

• Analyze market trends and conditions to anticipate potential supply chain disruptions and proactively mitigate risks.

• Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within the purchasing function.

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.

• Stay updated on industry developments and best practices in purchasing and supply chain management. Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a purchasing role or related field

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Proficiency in Netsuite, Quickbooks and Microsoft Office Suites

• Experience with 'About Time' software is preferred

• Understanding of buying processes and component selection

• Excellent customer service skills

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities

• Proven track record in cost reduction and process improvement in purchasing.
