Aerotek Maintenance Electrician 3rd Shift in COMMERCE, California

Job Title: PLC Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PLC Technician with the ability to read volt meters, perform single and three-phase motor replacements, diagnose and refurbish pumps, and wire and replace three-phase motors. Experience in the food industry and VFD troubleshooting is a plus, but not required. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.

  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

  • Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.

  • Keep shop and production areas clean after repairs.

  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as outlined by the Food and Drug Administration.

  • Be proactive in identifying maintenance needs and promote a team approach to fulfilling these needs.

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions.

  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.

  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors.

  • Participate in developing and maintaining plant safety awareness.

  • Support company priorities by looking for ways to improve safety, quality, waste reduction, and productivity.

  • Always represent the company and yourself in a professional manner.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and AC/DC motors.

  • Ability to read and use a volt meter.

  • Experience in single and three-phase motor replacements.

  • Ability to diagnose and refurbish pumps.

  • Experience wiring and replacing three-phase motors.

  • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial capacity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Food industry experience is a plus.

  • Experience with VFD troubleshooting is a plus.

  • Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with vendors.

  • Proactive in identifying maintenance needs and promoting teamwork.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
