Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Location: Gahanna, OH
Shift: Second Shift, Monday – Thursday, 3:15 p.m. – 1:45 a.m.
Initial Training Hours: First Shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Training schedule may vary)
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join their team on second shift. In this role, you will support various departments including fabrication, hardware insertion, and assembly. This position offers on-the-job training and cross-training in multiple areas of manufacturing, allowing you to build skills while working in tandem with experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate CNC + ATC Amada + Toyokoki Press Brakes (85-175 tons) to fabricate metal parts. Ability to set up and perform your own machine setups is required.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
Work within tolerances of ±0.005 inches and ½ degree.
Measure and record part dimensions and characteristics using calipers and micrometers.
Adjust offsets and ensure proper machine settings.
Assist with hardware insertion tasks and operate finishing equipment such as Fladder, hand grinders, and deburring tools.
Accurately perform mechanical assembly tasks using a variety of power, air, and hand tools (including rivet guns).
Maintain a high attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Operate pallet jacks and other shop floor equipment as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience with mechanical fabrication, particularly with Press Brake Operation and set-up.
Strong print reading and interpretation skills, especially in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a Job Shop environment .
Strong mechanical inclination with experience using hand and power tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (parts typically range from 2-25 lbs.).
Ability to stand, squat, bend, reach, pull, and push throughout a 10-hour shift.
Knowledge of ISO procedures and quality standards is beneficial.
Reliable, dependable attendance and ability to meet physical demands of the job.
Basic computer experience with software such as Word, Excel, and business systems.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Ability to stand, bend, squat, twist, and reach overhead throughout the course of a 10-hour shift.
Additional Information:
Wage: $ 20.00/hr
Shift includes 2 paid 10-minute breaks and one 30-minute unpaid meal break.
