Actalent Pathology Technician in Columbus, Ohio
We are currently hiring for an Anatomic Pathology Technician in the greater Columbus area! This is a long-term, first shift, career opportunity!
Position details:
The primary role is to perform necropsy examinations of small and large laboratory animals to include gross necropsy tissue collection fixation and labeling of specimens.
Trim tissues into cassettes for the histopathology team.
Contributing to the development and validation of equipment and necropsy activities.
Understanding and performing dilutions including mathematical calculations involved.
Use proper technique to operate necessary equipment to produce high quality data.
Perform routine maintenance and/or calibration of equipment as necessary. Prepare maintain and archive equipment logbooks.
Read SOPs methods facility guidelines etc. used in workplace in a timely manner and adhere to these procedures.
Record data and perform quality control reviews in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices GLP.
Desired Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Zoology, Veterinary Science, or closely related field of study
Hands on experience working with animals is highly preferred, but not required.
