B&N GIS Specialist Responsibilities
- Routine data entry, data management, creation, conversion, and generation of maps for projects{rel="nofollow"} across the country.
- Organize and manage tabular and graphical data, metadata and produce maps{rel="nofollow"} for analysis by others and cartographic maps for illustrations, reports, and presentations.
- Maintain proficiency with industry standards, GIS programs and processes, including cartography, computing, data management, editing, creation, and conversion methods.
- Assist with other technical projects and proposals requiring mapping.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Geography, GIS, or Cartography
- 2 -- 5 years of related GIS experience
- ESRI ArcGIS products including ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
- Working knowledge of Bentley and Autodesk GIS products.
- Proficiency with database management, data conversion software, map projections.
- Ability to work in a team and assist engineers and other GIS professionals in researching and documenting geographic and surface features and formations.
- Ability to work within tight schedules and provide solid written and verbal communication with technical users.
- Open-source GIS data and software programming (Python, SQLite, JavaScript) experience desired.
