CSS Farms, LLC Load Out Assistant in Columbus, Nebraska
Description
This position helps support the Wash Plant Manager with potato storage operations, farm operations, as well as supporting the production of 1,400 acres of chip potatoes.
During potato shipping, the Assistant Managers duties will be as follows but not limited to:
Assist the Wash Plant Manager in leading the load-out crew and helping in the shipment of potatoes.
Lead load-out team of 6-10 employees
Monitor potato quality and implement quality control standards as directed by the Farm Manager
Direct third-party freight operators through shipment process
Work with freight brokers to ensure shipping timelines are met
Provide oversight of maintenance of potato equipment within the load out area
Provide operational and mechanical support for key potato production operations as following:
Assist in potato storage operations, maintenance, and cleaning throughout the year.
Monitor potato bruise-free handling program during harvest and shipping.
Monitor potato storages during the winter storage season
Record shipping and quality data, food safety documentation, and maintenance records.
Expected Hours of Work.
Typical daily farm hours are 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Monday through Friday.
Harvest, Planting, and Shipping seasons are busy and will require longer hours and some weekends.
Required Qualifications:
A valid US driver’s license or the ability to obtain one and pass vehicle insurance verification.
Desired qualifications:
Forklift experience
Heavy equipment experience
Hand tool experience
Work Authorization
