DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Electronic Systems Product Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Problem Resolution : By investigating electronic application and systems problems, understanding causal mechanisms, and recommending appropriate actions, you will ensure timely and effective problem resolution.
Process Improvement : Applying and improving electronic application and systems development processes and tools will enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness in system specification, modeling, simulation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
Quality Decisions : Obtaining input from various stakeholders and delivering informed recommendations will lead to quality product decisions, positively impacting the final product.
Design and Calibration : Making decisions in electronic and electrical system design, requirements, calibration, and testing will directly influence the quality and performance of subsystems and features.
Mentorship : Reviewing the work of less-experienced developers and testers will ensure robust, reusable, and efficient designs, while also providing valuable mentorship and knowledge transfer.
Project Leadership : Leading smaller projects or owning complex components with full accountability will drive project success and contribute to the overall goals of the team.
Process Development : Developing and improving work processes and systems within your functional discipline will streamline operations and enhance productivity across the business unit.
Technical Guidance : Providing support and guidance to influence technical direction within project teams will help shape the project's success and foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Design and Application of Mechatronics Systems : Ability to specify and apply electronic hardware and interconnections to measure and control systems effectively.
Machine Integration and Optimization : Proficiency in combining parts or sub-systems to achieve optimal performance, reliability, cost, and quality, using standard tools and best practices.
Product Function Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis : Expertise in using computational tools and methods to predict and analyze product functions at various levels.
Product Problem Solving : Strong problem-solving skills to protect customers, determine causes, implement data-based solutions, and prevent reoccurrence of issues.
Product Verification and Validation Management : Capability to develop validation plans, manage product risk, evaluate test results, and provide technical documentation to support product decisions.
System Requirements Engineering : Proficiency in translating stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements, tracking their status, and assessing the impact of changes on project scope and resources.
Systems Thinking : Ability to define systems, analyze interactions, predict behavior, and devise modifications to achieve desired outcomes.
Networking and Communication : Skills in building relationships, delivering clear communications, making timely decisions, driving results, managing complexity, and being resourceful.
Values Differences : Recognizing and valuing diverse perspectives and cultures within the organization.
Design and Application of Open/Closed Loop Controls : Expertise in specifying and configuring control system architectures and understanding the interactions between hardware and software.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
Lead projects for Product (Engine Calibration) development cycle for Industrial, Marine and Powergen applications
Calibration Tuning and Issue troubleshooting for Electronic systems using 6 sigma tools, FIRG processes
Calibration Integration, running ESW checks for compliance, 3 Step Diagnostic tuning
Understanding of Core2, CSAR SW architecture, MATLAB Simulink model based development, hands on experience on Electronic Engineering Tools like Calterm, CDM, RDE are needed.
Project Management skills, overview on Product Cybersecurity are added benefit.
Compensation:
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
