Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee safety and environmental operations at plant 8S in Columbia, SC. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as adhering to Shaw's policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
This person will work closely with various teams to foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, ensuring that our facility operates within all regulatory frameworks and maintains the highest standards of safety and environmental integrity.

Job Description
Responsible for supervising EHS Technician , and other safety focused teams.
Develop, manage and own the SAFE system and safety compliance related elements that are applicable to the facility.
Create safety programs for the facility that are consistent with corporate programs and systems . Implementation of the residential safety culture to achieve desired teammate driven safety environment.
Ensure that all associate training is provided to meet SAFE and OSHA requirements.
Understand and support all SAFE, SMS, TPM, Lean Six Sigma, and Environmental efforts.
Oversee and manage all aspects of RCRA regulations to maintain Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator status.
Ensure compliance with site's various environmental permits and plans including NPDES regulations, Conditional Major Operating Permit for Air Emissions, RMP, SPCC, and SWPPP.
Submit annual reports as necessary including SARA 311/312 Tier II, and SARA 313 TRI.
Serve as the liaison between facility management, DEHS Divisional and Corporate Risk Management personnel to ensure effective EHS programs are in place and that all necessary training is being conducted.
Develop, implement and coordinate training system for the facility as needed , including but not limited to technical skills, environmental, safety and team developme nt, and comp anywide training programs.
Audit Plant Systems to ensure compliance.
Conduct investigations on all safety related incidents to determine root cause.
Coach and support plant personnel as it relates to driving safety programs and initiatives.
Advocate for safe workplace through high level focus on sitewide associate engagement.

Requirements:
Four-year college degree
3+ years EHS, Environmental, Safety, etc. experience .
Previous leadership experience is required .
