2nd Shift Materials Team Leader

Position Summary:

The Materials Team leader is responsible for coordinating activities throughout materials including but not limited to receiving, warehousing, shipping, and inventory control. They are responsible for leading and coaching MDI. They create, maintain and help ensure standard work is followed. They track shortages, material flow issues, receiving/shipping issues and help provide resolution.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety of employee’s and adherence to EHS requirements

  • Lead MDI and other related materials activities and meetings

  • Leading and training employee’s, providing feedback and coaching

  • Ensuring material availability and accurate inventories

  • Ensures all transactions and logs are executed correctly and in a timely manor

  • Ensures all necessary documents are maintained and filed in accordance with compliance and retention polices

Key Competencies and Success Factors: .

  • Ability to influence, coach and lead others both directly and indirectly

  • Computer: High level proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Excel, and Outlook. Capable of learning and utilizing multiple systems and databases.

  • Communication: Strong oral communication and ability to communicate with both internal and external parties involved in scrap, trash, recycling and storage.

  • Ability to perform job of employee’s under their supervision

  • Knowledge and application of the Lean Principles

  • Works with little supervision

Other Requirements:

  • Valid Drivers License and ability to operate powered industrial vehicles
