Aerotek Material Handler in Columbia, Pennsylvania

Description:

  • Hiring for material handlers on both 2nd and 3rd shift.

  • All new employees will start off doing about 2-3 weeks of classroom, less hands on training (safety, core values, basic certs, etc.).

  • 3-4 weeks of more hands on training (forklift certs, learning procedural duties, etc.). Most will start by getting certified on forklifts and the overhead crane.

Once in material handling role you will be order selecting using the high reach/side loader forklift as well as the sit down forklift to sort and band material once picked and operate the overhead crane when needed. This is NOT a solely forklift role; candidates will be doing some order selecting, maneuvering of material, loading trucks, banding various metals, lifting up to 55lbs on their own (team lift or forklift for anything more than that). Anything they do not already know how to do, they can be taught.

  • 2nd shift: 3p-11:30p Monday-Friday - all OT will be after the shift end time.

  • 3rd shift: 11p-7:30am Sunday-Thursday - all OT will be after the shift.

Qualifications:

Having exact experience is not a make or break for us. A candidate with a proven attendance record and willingness to learn and want to be part of the company for the long term is a candidate we would be interested in. Most importantly we need candidates who are willing to train on first shift and transferring to the 2nd or 3rd shift opportunities once training is completed.
