The purpose of this job is to perform various skilled tasks in vehicle maintenance, primarily preventive and light maintenance work.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs service and preventive maintenance.

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses automotive problems.

  • Tests parts and systems to ensure proper operation.

  • Cleans and maintains workspace.

  • Assists coworkers as needed.

  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience(

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered):

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • 1 years of experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.

Licenses or Certifications

  • Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with no air brake restriction within 6 months of hire date.

  • Motor Vehicle Inspector License.

  • Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Equipment Certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Engine components and systems.

  • Vehicle maintenance procedures.

  • Safety protocols and procedures.

Skill in:

  • Changing engine oil and filter, checking fluids, rotating tires, and repairing/ replacing parts.

  • Estimating time and materials needed to complete jobs.

  • Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience.

  • Operating motor vehicles.

Ability to:

  • Follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Use and maintain hand and power tools.
