Amergis RN School Support Manager in Columbia, Maryland

The RN School Support Manager is responsible for the clinical oversight of the designated medical care needs per the district contract. This oversight includes support of care management as required by regulation, contract and personnel management associated with the clinical services delivery.

The RN School Support Manager is knowledgeable of industry-specific clinical trends and partners with associated business development and operational leadership. The RN School Support Manager is also responsible for managing, training and assigning RN School Support Trainers to specific client populations and other duties as necessary for client management including care coordination, orientation, clinical quality initiatives, and other duties as required by contract and/or programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides clinical oversight, support and care management as required by contract and/or regulation

  • Provides client care coordination as directed by contract in person or remotely

  • Conducts visits at each district based on contractual requirements and needs

  • Provides documentation support and review as required by contract and provides reeducation when necessary

  • Develops caregivers and conducts performance evaluations as required by Amergis policy, contract, and/or accrediting bodies

  • Participates in clinical quality initiative activities

  • Investigates caregiver and field concerns, provides performance coaching and counseling when appropriate

  • Conducts clinical interviews upon request and participates in hiring decisions in collaboration with clinical and operational leadership teams

  • Completes documentation requirements per client contract

  • Collaborates with district personnel to support students health care needs, IHP requirements and delegation/supervision when appropriate per contract, in person or remotely

  • Participates in student care conferences/IEPs per contract

  • Acts as a support and resource to field questions coming from SBP’s and office regarding both students’ needs and appropriate placements

  • Assists with plans of correction in response to internal/external audit trends, and monitors for completion

  • Partners with the District RN, Delegating RN and Internal Amergis clinical designee to ensure compliance on Delegation and Supervision requirements, as applicable

  • Collaborates with the client’s building nurse, medical director, and school-based professionals regarding nursing practice, training and client policies, procedures and protocols

  • May be required to attend mandatory training, orientations and meetings at the request of the client

  • Reviews contracts, RFPs, Qual calls and staffing questions by business partners. Provides feedback on noted clinical concerns and considerations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in state of practice; may be required to gain additional licensure to support business needs

  • BSN preferred

  • National Certified School Nurse Certification, preferred

  • Management/Charge Nurse experience, required

  • One year of school nurse or pediatric experience, required

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Participation and completion of company’s Competency program when applicable

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
