The Lead, Tissue Processing Technician will carry out manufacturing practices in a cGMP biotechnical facility. The job involves training, coaching and supervising Tissue Processing Technicians on SOP’s, in specific production processes such as Raw Material Department, Sheet and MicroMatrix Cleanrooms, and Component Preparation. Lead, Tissue Processing Technician is the senior-level position within the Tissue Processing Technician job group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train and ensure Tissue Processing Technicians are compliant to:

  • Applicable Safety, Quality and Production SOP’s

  • Achieving daily Production build schedule

  • Directing Tissue Processing Technicians work duties daily and throughout the day as needed

  • Fill-in as Supervisor

  • Be the face-to-face contact for Tissue Processing Technicians to report to

  • Review of Job Travelers and sign as Reviewer

  • Attend Planning meetings as required

  • Provide feedback to Supervisor and Lead on:

  • Individual Tissue Processing Technician performance

  • Recommend disciplinary action if required

  • Tissue Processing Technician Mid-year and Annual performance review input

  • May also perform duties of Tissue Processing Technician and Tissue Processing Technician II

  • Make suggestions that would improve the work environment or material processing

  • Keep track of when supplies become low or need to be purchased

  • Perform other tasks as needed

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3 years Tissue Processing Technician experience; must have achieved level II (IN)

  • 2 years Tissue Processing Technician experience; must have achieved level II (MD)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good work ethic, dependable and punctual

  • Able to work well in both groups setting and independently

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing assignments

  • Working knowledge of GMP and ISO standards preferred

  • Must complete 90% of all training on the Tissue Processing Technician matrix

  • Satisfactory performance and performance reviews

  • Capable of leading and motivating Tissue Processing Technicians
