Surveyor In Training (S.I.T.)

Prairie Engineers is an award winning, growing company looking to add multiple Surveyors In Training ready to\

serve in the field and office and to assist with surveying and mapping projects at locations nationwide. Do you love\

days in sometimes harsh field conditions, but we also take pride in completing larger and more complex projects\

than the industry average.\

You will hold a relevant bachelors degree, be (or close to being) a licensed S.I.T. who is able and willing to be a\

highly responsible, capable, contributing member of our team, able to utilize technology and think on your feet. If\

get the job done well, we may be the right fit for you! This full-time position is available to be filled in our Hannibal\

MO, Keokuk IA, Springfield IL, or Washington IL offices with paid travel expenses and a per diem allowance for\

meals, generous benefits and a competitive salary based on qualifications.

What you will do:\

Perform field surveys

including hydrographic,

topographic, control, and

boundary surveys

Conduct boundary research

and prepare plats, plans, and

legal boundary descriptions

Perform and check

calculations including level

circuit reduction, least

squared and compass rule

computations, and volume

and area calculations

Utilize technology including

operating cutting-edge survey

equipment and a wide variety

of high-tech sensors and

methods

What you will provide:

Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, land surveying, or related field

Licensure: Current licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor In Training or ability to

obtain within 6 months

Communication: Good verbal and written skills

Ideals: Professional, positive attitude with a strong work ethic

Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Responsive: Communicate openly, proactively, and promptly

Safety: A valid drivers license and a clean driving record

Travel: Able to travel within the United States to meet project requirements,

sometimes on short notice

Service Oriented: Maintain focus on project delivery and client service with

attention to detail and meeting deadlines

What you might add:

Software: Familiarity with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation

Experience: 1-4 years experience as a field survey party chief or Surveyor In

Training
