The IT Integration Technician Level 1 at Nomad GCS is an entry-level position responsible for the accurate installation and configuration of IT-related hardware as outlined in CAD and engineering specifications. This role involves executing detailed tasks such as cable pulls, rack installations, and equipment setups, ensuring operational stability and system integrity. Technicians in this role also engage in basic soldering, the installation of workstation faceplates, and the setup of camera mounts and rooftop hardware like antennas and satellite systems. Team collaboration is essential, as technicians must uphold Nomad's core values, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing project requirements. The position requires a basic understanding of electronics, proficiency in Microsoft Suite, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks in various work environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:

Technical Installation and Configuration:

  • Read and interpret CAD and IT Engineering Cable Pull Sheets for accurate installation.

  • Execute cable pulls, rough-ins for cable installation, and install data racks according to specifications.

  • Build and install rack shelves and equipment, ensuring proper setup and stability.

  • Terminate and test data, audio, and radio cables at data rack locations, ensuring system integrity.

  • Perform basic soldering tasks and install workstation faceplates, terminating cables appropriately.

  • Install camera mounts and assist in the installation of roof hardware, including antennas and satellite systems, as per CAD drawings.

  • Communicate effectively, ensuring clarity and precision in all technical tasks and interactions.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned, adapting to changing priorities and project requirements.

    BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:

  • Basic understanding of computers and electronics, particularly multiband radios, A/V systems, and basic soldering.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and capability to follow complex technical instructions.

  • Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.

  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and crawling.

  • Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors.

  • Must have the physical stamina to work in awkward positions and stand for prolonged periods.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Partially environmentally controlled indoor area with temperatures fluctuating between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F.

  • Occasional outdoor work required.

  • Exposure to noise levels ranging from low to loud; safety hearing devices provided as needed.

  • Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals; adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required.

  • Mandatory wearing of OSHA-approved safety eyewear and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.

  • Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators or protective coveralls, may be necessary for specific tasks.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required; further education in a technical field is preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or IT-related setting preferred.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.

  • Demonstrates strong team-oriented and responsible behaviors, contributing positively to collaborative work settings.
