BlueHalo, LLC Product Owner in Colorado Springs, Colorado

We’re seeking an experienced product owner to help lead this mission. The ideal candidate will have big ideas and strategies that foster an environment of collaboration and creativity.

Our team uses Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Python, Golang, Java, React, Material UI, TypeScript, JavaScript, AWS services and Cloud architecture, along with other cutting edge technologies to solve some of DoD's most pressing issues. We are at the forefront of development and design activities for the Joint Commercial Operations Cell. You will be collaborating directly with customer users and other stakeholders to provide diverse, timely Space Domain Awareness. These activities include acting as the product owner of full-stack development of prototypes and production components used in the space defense enterprise. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic product owner with exceptional attention to detail.

This position supports multiple projects, primarily government programs with some support of commercial programs. The candidate will work on a team comprised of BlueHalo, sub-contractors, associate contractors, and end-customer personnel.

  • Lead the team to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project(s).

  • Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals.

  • Work closely with other product owners and the Government customer to create and maintain product backlog according to program/business value.

  • Remain up-to-date on trends and best practices for Agile project management.

You’d like to do this

As a Product Owner in a team environment you will be performing and assisting with requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, documentation, peer review and maintenance of applications.

Support and interact with Government and internal customers for software needs and requirements.

Plan and prioritize product development and product feature backlog.

Work with your scrum master to manage the product development process.

Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they’re clearly understood by relevant teams.

Assess value, gather feature requests, develop cases, and prioritize stories, and epics to ensure work aligns with product strategy.

Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals.

Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, identify end-user needs, and ensure the product meets customer expectations.

Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions.

Participate in an Agile Software Team developing full stack solutions, using languages such as Python, Golang, Java, React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

Work in a collaborative environment to create solutions for supporting our infrastructure and APIs (Application Programming Interface)

Participate in the creation of continuous integration tests and support our efforts to create and fully utilize a continuous integration/continuous deployment environment.

**This position is open to Hybrid work with some travel required

Salary Range: $90,000 to $135,000 with a competitive benefits package that includes: 4 weeks PTO, comp time, flex time, 11 paid holidays, very generous 401k employer contribution, health, dental, vision and much more.

You’re required to have this

  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a DoD security clearance

  • 5 or more years of experience in product development

  • Technical software background

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodology for project management

  • Experience in some or all of the following:

  • Scrum

  • Jira/Confluence

  • Understanding of software architecture

  • Experience as Product Owner

  • Understanding of customer/program/business value related to features and functions and initiative in finding creative, well-designed solutions

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills

  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholder

    Preferred:

  • Experience with API development

  • Strong knowledge Agile framework
