Provides a variety of clerical and filing duties including the scanning and filing of reports into electronic medical records: scans, sorts, files, locates logs, and retrieves electronic medical records as assigned. Prioritizes incoming requests as required and frequently adjusts work activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Locate and sort electronic health records into the appropriate location via RightFax, TW Scan, SmartFiler, and InteleFiler

  • Ensure daily policies and procedures are being adhered to continuously

  • Print, sort, and scan incoming medical records, notes, and other documents; convert them to electronic records

  • Accurate data entry

  • Checking tasks and re-filing documents as appropriate Maintain orderly files

  • Maintain the confidentiality and comply by all company procedures, results, and information about patients and clients including faxed information and couriered materials

  • Perform other duties as required including but not limited to: physically lifting and moving boxes of paper records, scan equipment, and other electronics

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • 1+ years of relevant business and/or operational work experience

  • 1+ years of health information maintenance experience

  • Experience working with SmartFiler and InteleFiler

  • Experience working in Patient Medical Record Systems (preferably Allscripts)

  • Basic to intermediate understanding of medical terminology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Allscripts TW Scan & EHR

  • Proficient in eFax applications (Biscom, RightFax)

  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients and/or NWP employees in-person and over the phone

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment

  • Ability to follow HIPAA guidelines

  • Ability to scan and maintain medical records, reports, and other correspondence

  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull objects up to 40 pounds, using appropriate body mechanics; requires sitting, standing, and general moving around in room

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Superior verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $16.00 to $23.51. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
