Defense Unicorns Competitive Solicitation Lead in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Role Description: Defense Unicorns is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Competitive Solicitation Lead to join our fully remote team. Competitive Solicitation Lead will play a pivotal role in identifying, pursuing, and guiding new business opportunities through the solicitation process to contract award.

As a Competitive Solicitation Lead, you will be responsible for supporting and implementing procurement strategies and proposals while also collaborating with cross-functional teams to support company growth objectives.

Responsibilities: Assist in identifying and qualifying new business opportunities in alignment with company growth objectives and target markets. Support the solicitation planning process by conducting opportunity assessments, competitive analyses, and market research. Assist in building and maintaining relationships with key partners, and stakeholders to understand their requirements and priorities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including opportunities, marketing, and engineering, to develop comprehensive proposal strategies and plans. Contribute to the development of high-quality proposals, including proposal management, writing, editing, and review coordination. Assist in managing the proposal development process, including timelines, resources, and compliance with customer requirements. Coordinate with subcontractors, teaming partners, and consultants to support proposal development efforts. Participate in proposal reviews to assess progress, mitigate risks, and make data-driven decisions. Support continuous improvement initiatives in the proposal process, tools, and best practices to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. Travel Expectations/Requirements: 20%

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: Experience in business development, proposal management, or related roles preferably in a tech or federal environment. Strong interest in pursuing a career in proposal management and business development. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data to support decision-making. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Knowledge of government contracting processes, regulations, and compliance requirements. Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret data to make informed decisions. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a remote work environment.
