Within our Mechanical Department in the Italy office, we are looking for Utilities Design Engineer.
Key duties of the role include:
Develop Utilities calculations for both utilities generation and distribution systems
Prepare technical specifications, descriptions, scope of work, bill of quantities, etc. of Utilities services as Chilled, Hot, Glycolic, Softened and Potable Waters, Steam, Compressed Air, Drainage and Sewage system, including gas distribution systems, vent and safety vent systems
Develop P&ID’s in accordance with the design scope and requirements
Participate in the design coordination with other engineering disciplines
Interact actively with the 3D modelling teams to ensure conveyance of information
Cooperation with local and international consultants
Perform the Supplier’s and contractor’s follow-up activities
Provide support to the construction activities when required
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices
Able to read and interpret, HVAC and Firefighting drawings wherever required
Here’s what you’ll need :
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering
Technical background with minimum 2 years of experience in Utilities design
Design calculations experience for Utilities distribution and Generations
Fluency in English and Italian (spoken & written)
Experience in both local and international projects is preferred
Knowledge of national and international standard technical codes (ASHRAE, Energy and Sustainability codes, ISO standards related to the technical sector, GMP’s, NFPA, FMG),
Revit MEP basic knowledge and specialized collaborative platforms (BIM360, ACC, Naviswork, Revizto).
Availability for business trips
Following capabilities will be considered a valuable plus:
Experience in Pharmaceuticals and Data Centers projects
Design software experience for Heating and Cooling loads calculation and Energy Modelling (IES, HAP), CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) Analysis.
Basic Knowledge of BMS (Building Management Systems) & Control Systems for the Systems Testing and Commissioning
