Responsibilities:

  • Owns the overall labour and employee relations agenda for CCR with a focus on Germany.

  • Acts as trusted labour and employee relations expert, partnering closely with the responsible HRBPs, managers and local Workers Counsels.

  • Works to develop new labor and employee relations policies as required.

  • Advises in the research and compilation of facts related to employee grievances and provides insight on how labor and employee relations policies can be interpreted to strengthen management's position in each case.

  • Acts as point of contact for Germany General- and local Works Counsels, as required;

  • For local WC’s the role incumbent will closely advise the lead HR Managers/BPs in local negotiations and my interact directly with them, in agreement with requirements.

  • Partners closely with external legal counsel, as required; works in partnership with the Legal CCR team, mitigate organization risk and for relevant legal topics including Data protection etc, as part of the greater legal community.

  • May serve as an additional point of contact in labour relations matters to address complex and comprehensive disputes in the event an employee is dissatisfied with or a grievance is not resolved through initial and secondary grievance proceedings.

  • Directs projects that are focused on labour and employee relations projects and initiative

  • In addition, this role will act as partner and coach to business leaders and HR personnel alike in influencing and executing organizational effectiveness on ELR topics.

  • Negotiating experience in a competitive or adversarial environment with LR compoexity.

  • Considering new and creative approaches within general policies and short-term goals when solving problems.

  • Serves as fact witness at arbitrations and other hearings regarding investigations as needed. Work with legal counsel in preparation for labour arbitrations, including witness and document preparation, and attends hearings as necessary.

The role is not limited to the above description but will encompass all adjacent activities linked to the labour and employee relations function, the job holder will have the opportunity to ‘co-create’ the function in alignment with the global LR Leadership and the HR global leader.

Role requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant labour and employee relations experience, specifically in leading negotiations, experience in organizing campaigns in the field; advancing practices and policies designed to promote employee engagement.

  • Bachelor and Master’s level degree in Law would be highly desired.

  • Working experience as a consultant, would be a clear plus.

  • Extensive knowledge of labour and employment law, and the ability to partner at all levels of the organization.

  • Successful track record working in a large, complex organizational structure.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English.

  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving ability with an aptitude to manage various stakeholders and parties.
