Library Systems & Services Library Associate 3 - STEM Services in Collegedale, Tennessee
The STEM Programmer will serve as the primary point of contact for the library's developing STEM technology, providing instruction on STEM resources, creating engaging activities, programing and training opportunities. This position also assists patrons with technology questions.
Creating images and write-ups for events to be posted on social media and event calendars
Ensure proper use of STEM equipment and technology
Develop educational programs for a variety of technology for all ages and skill levels
Provide training and instruction for staff and patrons in the use of the STEM resources
Create effective procedures for using STEM technology to ensure safe and equitable use by patrons
Ensure proper use of STEM equipment and technology as it is acquired for public use
Assist with promotion and outreach for the STEM events and activities
A professional, friendly, helpful, positive attitude with the public and staff members
Willingness to learn new and innovative technologies
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Assists with large-scale youth events including, but not limited to, End of Summer Reading Party, Annual Escape Room, and Christmas in Collegedale
Serves as staff supervisor on their scheduled weekends and evenings
Know and understand the American Library Association’s Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library. In addition to these freedoms, support client discretion of materials available at your local library.
Serves at the circulation desk checking items out, creating library card accounts, and answering questions as assigned.

Your Competencies:
Experience with Google Sheets, Forms, Docs, Drive and Sites
Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook,
Cameo Maker: Card Cutting, Vinyl, Print and Cut Stickers
Computer Aided Design (CAD): Fusion360 and TinkerCAD
3D Printing: designing, slicing, printing and maintenance on Luzbot
VR hardware and software using VR headset Bobovr M2
Minecraft software
Scratch coding for Lego Robotics
Requirements
An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training, and/or work experience required
H.S. Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred
Two years of experience with STEM technology, technology instruction, or other creative-based work preferred, but not required.
Strong writing, presentation, and public speaking skills
Excellent instructional and customer service skills
