Robert Half Logistics Coordinator in College Park, Georgia

Description

We are offering a role that is situated in the logistics industry, specifically in College Park, Georgia. The position is a Logistics Coordinator and it is a contract employment opportunity. The work environment will involve handling logistics coordination tasks, with a particular focus on ensuring efficient and effective logistics operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of shipments, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.

  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.

  • Maintain records of logistics operations including tracking information, delivery schedules, and issues that arise.

  • Provide excellent customer service, answering queries and solving problems related to logistics.

  • Collaborate with the logistics team to maximize performance and efficiency.

  • Prepare regular reports and summaries related to logistics activity to assist management in decision-making.

  • Coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and transport companies to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.

  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment and adhering to all safety regulations.

  • Communicating effectively with team members and superiors through written and verbal means.

  • Schedules and monitors airport transfers and request delivery to the final consignee

  • Creates broker arrival notices for internal or external broker

  • Completes customer and intercompany billing as well as coordinates billing discrepancies

  • Archives all shipment related documents

  • Contributes to implementation of department procedures to maximize productivity

  • Controls commercial documentation required for export or import declaration and other regulatory agencies or requirements (AES, DPS, Hazmat, AMS)

    Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a logistics coordination role or similar

• Proficient in logistics management procedures and best practices

• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives

• Strong knowledge of logistics software or transport management systems - knowledge of CargoWise is highly preferred

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions

• Ability to handle stress and stay level-headed in high-pressure situations

• High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
