Aerotek Construction Inspector in Cohocton, New York

Job Posting Description

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and document subgrade conditions, comparing them to expected conditions from the geotechnical report.

  • Inspect reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, and formwork prior to concrete placement.

  • Observe foundation concrete placement and consolidation.

  • Observe placement and compaction of foundation backfill.

  • Review the Contractor’s work for conformance to Engineer’s design and specifications, and approved submittals.

  • Communicate any unsatisfactory aspects of foundation construction to the Engineer and the Owner’s construction site manager immediately.

  • Provide daily reporting within 24 hours of finishing activities, including photographs, a summary of the day’s construction activities, and any identified issues.

  • Report any deviations from foundation design specifications or approved submittals immediately to the Engineer. Examples of deviations include:

  • Concrete consolidation equipment failures.

  • Concrete placement and consolidation procedures not followed.

  • Any change in design specifications or mass concrete plan not approved by the Owner.

Activities to Observe During Wind Turbine Generator Foundation Construction:

  • Excavation subgrades

  • Rebar, anchor bolt cage, and concrete placement

  • Compaction and grading of backfill soils

  • Grout and load spread plate installation with anchor bolt tensioning

  • Communication with Engineer, Owner, and Contractor

Field Deliverables:

  • Subgrade inspection reports (one per foundation)

  • Inspection checklists (one per foundation)

  • Daily field reports (one per day)

  • Engineer will provide checklist and report template for Aerotek’s use

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
