Goodwill West Texas Driver Assistant w/ License (Clyde) in CLYDE, Texas
Goodwill West Texas is looking to fill a Driver Assistant position at their Abilene DSU. This position does require a valid license.
POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with donation pick up and deliver items (donated and new) for resale in various store locations. Project a positive image of Goodwill-West Texas to the public. Perform trash containment duties and maintain a clean and safe work site.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
- Ability to load and unload heavy items such as furniture, refrigerators, etc.
- Use transport equipment (dolly, flat bed, etc.) appropriately and gain coworkers assistance as needed
- Distribute store deliveries as necessary
- Ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a positive, friendly manner (E)
- Fill in as driver as necessary (E)
- Must be able to follow through on instructions (E)
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds independently
- Must be able to walk, stand, stoop and bend for extended periods of time
- Willingness to perform all other job duties requested by the supervisor
- Must promote safety at all times
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIFIC SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:
- Must be able to complete work duties safely and in a timely manner
- Must be able to read and write the English language
- Ability to read and interpret maps and use GPS if necessary
- Must be able to organize and follow a route, daily
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions
- Relate appropriately and positively with co-workers
- Must be able to safely lift and carry 50 pounds independently
- Stooping and bending required
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Some weekend work required
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Pick-up and delivery experience preferred
- Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record required
