Emerson International Trade Compliance Specialist in CLUJ, Romania
Emerson is looking for an International Trade Compliance Specialist for our office in Cluj. The main objective of this role is to provide specialized support and administer the Trade Compliance Program for our European sites, ensuring adherence to and compliance with corporate and Emerson ITC standards and policies. This role involves close collaboration with the European World Area Leader, management, and local functional resources to establish and maintain robust procedures, processes, and work instructions covering all areas of Trade Compliance. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Aid in implementing Trade Compliance programs at existing and newly acquired sites across Europe; demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Trade Compliance programs and effectively communicate requirements to all stakeholders.
Update program components and documentation as necessary to follow local regulations; maintain compliance tools: Ensure compliance tools like Archer are up-to-date, location records and self-assessments are completed, and standards and guidelines are implemented.
Overall ITC Program support: developing and implementing Emerson and MSOL standards, facilitating import and export activities at Emerson, site visits and audits, compliance guidance to divisions in escalated issues, third party/ restricted party screening management
Oversee special import compliance programs such as Free Trade Agreements, Bonded Operations, Royalties, Drawback/Suspension, Paperless Clearances, Classifications and Valuation, as applicable
Oversee supply chain security compliance programs such as Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), as applicable
Supporting with other Regulatory Compliance tasks, as applicable - may include Product Environmental Compliance (“PEC”), activities related to Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (“CBAM”) and EU Deforestation (EUDR).
Collect data to review procedures, generate reports, and address deficiencies in compliance programs.
Ensure systems are functioning accurately, escalate issues, support policy clarifications, and coordinate training program delivery.
Organize workflows for the International Trade Compliance team and support pivotal initiatives.

You are a meticulous and proactive professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of international trade regulations. You excel in communication, ensuring all collaborators are informed and compliance programs are implemented effectively. As a problem-solver, you meticulously gather and analyze data to drive continuous improvement, and you are flexible and adaptable, comfortable working across time zones and travelling when necessary.
For This Role, You Will Need:
3-5 years of relevant work experience in Compliance, Legal, or other related area
Advanced MS Office skills
Excellent oral and written English language skills
Strong organizational skills, reliable and good attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Degree in law, business, international trade or equivalent
Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
