Emerson Firewall Engineer (1 year) in CLUJ NAPOCA, Romania

As a Firewall Engineer , you will be focused on the Palo Alto Platform design and operate our Wide Area Network, External Connectivity, Wireless and Data Switching environments. Over the past few years, the number of Firewalls we maintain and associated rulesets have continued to grow, particularly cloud and internal segmentation. This role will be focused on ensuring all our firewalls are operationally maintained to a standard, including software versions, features, and rulesets once operational.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Work on project related efforts to implement ruleset changes and configurations in relation to our firewall environment in conjunction with a dedicated divestiture effort.
Act as a lead and subject matter expert for security technologies within the group as assigned to the project.
Act as interface between Service Engineering and Service Operations ensuring the firewall environment is capacity planned and proactively monitored to maximize availability.
Drive security best practices, efficiency, and performance initiatives that improve and complement the existing security design in regard to firewall capabilities.
Provide 4 th level support to project escalations and drive them to resolution.

For This Role, You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the design, implementation, and operation of networks, including firewalling.
Experience with an Enterprise Firewall Platform such as FortiGate.
Experience with Cisco VPN routers and connectivity to 3 rd party vendor devices.
Advanced English language skills (read/spoken/written).
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Experience with a Firewall Assessment Tool such as Firemon.
Experience with SIEM tools, Splunk and LogScale.
Experience with Service Now and its change management system.
