ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF):
KeyBank is looking for a talented, analytical, energetic, and results-driven professional to serve as an Associate within the Enterprise Analytics organization. This person will play an instrumental role in supporting KeyBank’s enterprise efforts to address strategic activities, helping Key to make better and more informed decisions. They will be responsible for developing analytical insights which help grow the business through consumer, commercial, technology and operations led initiatives. The Associate is responsible for utilizing data to support the initiatives of the team within Enterprise Analytics to which you will be assigned. You will join a growing cross-functional team that engages with a wide variety of financial products, tackling the bank’s most challenging and high-leverage analytical and strategic problems. In this role you will serve as a critical advisor to business leaders by designing, recommending, and implementing strategies that will drive bottom line impacts.
You will: leverage best in-class analytical techniques using cutting edge tools to gather insights and inform new business strategies, engage directly with executive leadership of business units, technology, operations, and finance and receive action-oriented training and support from a team of experts responsible with driving analytical strategy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Engage in beginner to moderate forms of analysis, leveraging technical skills to digest and draw insights from both internal and external data sets
Create analysis to support production of insights into relevant business questions under general direction/supervision
Develop relationship building ability, influence and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate the ability to operate effectively in a group using open, friendly, accepting and supportive behaviors with team members
Identify local key players and decision makers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiar with basic analytical tools and approaches to business problem solving.
Able to perform analysis using Excel.
Some background coding potentially with tools like SQL, SAS, Python, etc.
Possesses analytical curiosity and an interest in learning new tools and methods for analysis.
Familiar with statistical and mathematical concepts and able to relate them to real world uses.

Partnering / Influencing: work typically assigned by manager; limited business partner interaction; Developing ability to build relationships, partner, and influence
Business Acumen: Developing basic understanding of business partner strategy; Building financial acumen
Critical Thinking / Problem Solving: Recognizes need to escalate issues in a timely manner; Able to develop some analytical and problem-solving hypotheses but may need guidance on more nuanced situations; Can perform analysis with some direction and coaching; Understands when the results of analysis are off base or unrealistic.
Results Focus: Can independently manage time and work through a prioritized set of tasks; Works with urgency and focus; Escalates risks to timelines and where tasks are taking longer than anticipated or budgeted; Understands how their role fits into the overall effort; Seeks out advice, help, and information when needed to accomplish responsibilities.
