Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Cleveland, Ohio

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Shift: 2nd & 3rd

Pay: $28-$31/hr

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on automated machinery, particularly filling machines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of maintenance duties, including troubleshooting PLCs, reading blueprints, and performing machine adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on automated machinery, particularly filling machines.

  • Conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance on automated machinery.

  • Handle preventive maintenance duties as listed.

  • Work from work orders and respond to maintenance calls from operators.

  • Troubleshoot PLCs and report issues to the Automation Engineer.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

  • Perform adjustments on machines as needed.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace pumps and electrical motors.

  • Maintain and repair gear boxes, conveyors, sprockets, chains, motors, pumps, bearings, and cylinders.

  • Troubleshoot water and air valves.

  • Cut and thread pipes, replace check valves, and handle basic piping components.

  • Wire motors, troubleshoot electrical issues, check for shorts, and handle voltage checks.

  • Work with basic pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

  • Handle 480-v and 3-phase motors.

  • Work with ladder logic, automation cabinets, switches, proxy switches, sensors, inputs, and outputs.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2-3 years of industrial mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.

  • Experience with 120v-480v and 3-phase systems.

  • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.

  • PLC troubleshooting skills.

  • Knowledge of three-phase motors, ladder logic, automation cabinets, switches, proxy switches, sensors, pumps, wiring harnesses, and electrical circuits.

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Experience with preventive and reactive maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in food manufacturing environments is a plus.

  • Knowledge of FDA regulations is beneficial.

  • Ability to work on automated machinery.

Work Environment

Our facility is FDA regulated and focuses on food manufacturing. We maintain a small, family-like environment with a headcount of 160 employees. The facility is equipped with automated machinery throughout. Employees are required to wear hair nets, beard nets (if necessary), lab coats, and gloves. We have openings on the 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Sunday to Thursday) and the 4th shift (6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Friday to Sunday, 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
